back to school 2020 – virtual style

Whoa. What a year so far, right? It’s hard to believe we’re getting ready to back to school, and even harder to believe what this school year is shaping up to look like.

We’ve made the decision to participate in virtual learning/homeschool, at least through the first semester. We based our decision off of lots of different factors, but in the end, I’m hoping that this helps with consistency and routine (two things we need in our house!)

I am working from home, teaching my college courses this semester as well. So it was important for me to designate a small space for us to work. I moved a few things around in our upstairs playroom/living room/junk room and created a little nook with desks for the kids.

I did purchase the desks, with the hope that the kids will use these as homework desks for years to come. They were under $60 and I sawed the legs off of Rhyan’s so it would fit her better.

The storage cube was something we already had, and I just moved our stuff out and made it a place to store workbooks, journals, and worksheets.

I hit up the Target dollar aisle for most everything else.

I did get a small cart to keep our school supplies in. It’s super handy if you don’t have tons of storage.

Here are links for the items I’ve used:

We don’t know what this school year will look like, but we’re going to try to make the most of it!
