Christmas Gift Guide for Toddler Boys

I’m wrapping my last Christmas Gift Guide today with ideas for my littlest. West is 2 and as crazy as it sounds, is pretty hard to shop for. He’s the youngest of three and I (like a crazy person) have kept pretty much ALL of the toys from my older two. So it’s can be a little tricky to ‘surprise’ him with something. I also try to get meaningful toys, and things I know he will enjoy, rather than just buying something to wrap up for him.

He definitely appreciates toys for ‘bigger’ kids more so than actual gifts for two year olds. I think he thinks he’s just a little bit bigger than what he really is (I think that must be the littlest sibling syndrome). He’s definitely a busy body at this age and likes emptying boxes, screwing on lids, and opening and closing doors just about as much as anything else!

I’ve compiled a list of 10 toys that he either has and LOVES, or something that I’ve got my eye on for a Christmas gift:

1. Radio Flyer Folding Trike – This was his birthday gift this year and he loves it! He’s not quite figured out the pedaling process, but he loves to have something to scoot around on and try and keep up with his big brother and sis on their bikes.

2. John Deere Hayride Set – It doesn’t matter which tractor and wagon set he gets, he loves it. He’s really into hauling things and doing his ‘work’. Let’s hope this lasts!

3. VTech Little Tablet – This is a gift this year. He loves pushing buttons and playing with his sister’s little VTech laptop so I think he’ll like this. Highly rated, too!

4. Little Tykes Trampoline – He has something similar to this and he uses it alot. We keep it in our basement and he loves to stand and jump on it and ‘doot’ (shoot) basketball into his little goal.

5. Ikea Play Tent – We got this last year and ALL the kids loved it. You can’t beat the price point!

6. Hotwheels Throwback Set – I don’t know who this one is more for: him, me, or Rhyan. I had almost the EXACT set when I was growing up and now Hot Wheels has made a throwback set that is very similar to the original one. I can’t tell you HOW long I played with this thing. I still have mine, and now my kids play with it like crazy. I can’t wait for them to see this one!

7. First 100 Animals Book – We’ve had this book for at least 7 years now, and at some point, this was a favorite of all 3 kids. They learned many of their animals from this book!

8. Soft Block Set – My mom originally got these for the kids and we’re going to stock back up on them. This is a great block set. They’re really soft, and all of my kids have loved them.

9. Little Tykes Basketball Goal – We have this, too, and West is REALLY loving it now. It adjusts sizes, so it will grow as they grow. Parker used this for a good 2-3 years!

10. Melissa and Doug Latch Board – This is a gift this year, too. He spends so much time opening and closing and tinkering with little random things around the house, I think this will be fun for him.

I hope my guides have been helpful for you if you have struggled with ideas this year. I know I struggle EVERY year with ideas and I’ve always found boards so helpful. They give me lots of ideas I wouldn’t have thought of myself.
