We were so thankful to have Anthony Keys of LionCat Media to create a special video of our adoption ceremony and the end to what was a long, long year. Looking at this video now in retrospect, it doesn’t seem real to me.
5 years ago, I didn’t know May was National Foster Care month. I didn’t know how many kids were in foster care. I didn’t know how great a need there was for foster parents. I knew about as much about foster care as I do about rocket science.
Now, I can SO happily and SO thankfully say that foster care has changed our lives and our family. I can say now that I understand the stigma around foster care, and I understand the ups and the downs and the frustrations with it all.
But, I know now, it’s not about us. It’s not about the system. It’s about the kids. And it’s about giving stability, hope, and love to a child in need. And there is just no greater blessing than that.
