2019 mother’s day gift guide

It was Mother’s Day 2014, and I had just delivered our 2nd baby. I was hormonal, still using witch hazel, and we were trying to adjust to life with two kids. In my husband’s defense, he was a TOTAL ROCKSTAR taking care of all of us during those delirious few weeks. But for that Mother’s Day, the one where I felt like I should have earned a gold star for, you know, pushing a human out of my body, he got me a cartoon-ish card with a $20 bill tucked inside and topped it off by taking me to Long John Silver’s for dinner.

I cried and didn’t talk to him for a couple of days. I blame the hormones 😉

I chalk that Mother’s Day up to the effects of sheer exhaustion and delirium that comes with the whole ‘new baby territory’, because Ben is normally SO thoughtful. He is always so good at gift-giving, and I’m always good at laying out exactly what I want 🙂

So, Ben, feel free to choose from anything on this list I’m about to share. These are my top picks and/or requests for Mother’s Day this year 🙂

  1. Custom Engraved Family Recipe Cutting Board. – I came across this last week and I LOVE it SO much! Don’t look at this one mom. It might be headed your way. I have a thing for cookbooks and handwritten recipes, and my mom has a treasure trove of them at her house. This would be such a unique way to preserve a family heirloom!
  2. Baloo Weighted Blanket – This one is actually on its way to my house as I type! Since we got a weighted blanket for our youngest, I’ve been eyeing some for our room. This particular blanket comes with top reviews, but what really drew my eye is the look and appeal of it. It looks just like a comforter and will match our bedroom perfectly! An added bonus? It’s made from chemical-free cotton and lead-free glass microbeads.
  3. Belamar MVMT watch – I’ve never owned a ‘fancy’ watch, and I have had my eye on the MVMT watches for a while. I LOVE the design of the Belamar watch and I think the color would go with just about anything.
  4. Magnolia Table Cookbook – Again, major thing for cookbooks over here! I’ve wanted this one since it came out. Hint, hint, Ben!
  5. L’ange Curling Wand – If your social media feeds are anything like mine, you’ve noticed them blowing up with L’ange products. I was skeptical until my sister-in-law bought a wand. I tried it and LOVED it. It gave me such soft, natural curls.
  6. Personalized Gold Bracelet – I’m not crazy about personalized gifts, but I love this one. It’s at a great price point, plus it’s stylish and simple.
  7. Instyler Blu Turbo Hair Dryer – I’m embarrassed to tell you how long I’ve had my hair dryer. Let’s just say, its time for a new one. This one has great reviews, and claims to cut drying time in half!
  8. Stars Above Lightweight Robe – I have one bathrobe and its fleece and heavy, and not ideal for summer. I’ve been looking for a lightweight robe for the warmer months and I love how simplistic and soft this one looks.
  9. Canvas Weekender Bag – I bought this one a couple of months ago and I love it! It’s roomy and perfect to carry toiletries and/or shoes for a bigger trip, or a great size for a short weekend trip. Plus, I love stripes!
  10. Causebox – I’ve never had a subscription box, but this one is on it’s way to my house, too! I’m excited to try it and love the mission behind it. Causebox is a seasonal delivery of 6-8 hand-curated products for women. And each piece has a story and makes our world a better place 🙂
  11. Rockland Luggage Set – My luggage set is about done. I’ve had it for years and it has a soft, cloth outer finish instead of a hard one. I’d like to have a hard set that is a little more durable. This one goes on MAJOR sale often, and comes in several color options.
  12. ShineLife Jewelry – Just go ahead and get me anything from this site 😉 I have gotten to know Hilary over the last couple of months and she, AND the ShineLife story, are incredible! They have so many beautiful pieces. When I think of inspirational, function, and beautiful jewelry, I will ALWAYS think of ShineLife.

I hope this was helpful for you, and points you in a direction of what to get the special mama in your life!
